  2. Secure Your Home and Vehicle: Ensure that your home and vehicle are secured. Install storm shutters or board up windows and doors. Move valuable items to higher ground and secure objects like furniture and loose items. Trim trees and shrubs to minimize debris. Check your roof and clear your gutters. Local authorities may be distributing sandbags, so be sure to visit the nearest location to collect them. Park on high ground or in a covered, secure area and avoid trees, poles, or loose signs. Take clear photos of your vehicle (all sides and interior). Remove valuables and disconnect the battery if flooding is likely.
